As the EDA (Electronic Design Automation) Engineer you will support full-custom, mixed-signal IC designers in their usage of CMOS, BiCMOS, RFSiGe processes so that they can effectively create bug free integrated circuits in their 1stpass. Your main roles are:
- Support and provide designers with a proven EDA environment such as run sets for Layout versus Schematic, design rule sets and layout parasitic back-annotation
- Resolve problems, which may be based on modeling, PCells, net-listing, EDA tool, or other issues
- Develop test cases to make problems repeatable
- Identify & evaluate EDA software to improve the design methods used
- Identify needs for training and organize training for designers
- Migrate designs from one process to another and verify successful conversion
- Prepare for tape-out and release to mask shop
Opportunities for Improvement:
- Improve quality of process developments kits for our client as well as foundry processes meeting our local requirements
- Implement Configuration Management solution (ClearCase)
- Work on step function effectiveness improvement in layout generation
- Implement methods to avoid signal integrity problems
This position requires a MS in electrical or computer engineering or the equivalent.
You must also possess:
Technical Abilities:
- Working knowledge about physical effects influences to the design
- Strong in using UNIX, Perl and other tool specific scripts to enhance design flows
Experience in the following areas preferred:
- Basic experience in mixed signal circuit design
- Solid knowledge in modeling: behavioral / device physics
- Solid experience in maintaining Cadence/Synopsys EDA environment and tools
- Parasitic extraction expertise
